DevOps integrates developers and operation teams to improve collaboration and productivity by automating infrastructure, automating workflows and continuously measuring application performances. While organizations are embracing DevOps across various platforms, there still seems to be some confusion around the smooth implementation. One of the major gray areas of this would be enterprises considering Agile to be the same as DevOps.

A simple answer to that would be No. The table below elucidate few differences between the two.

The change in the software development landscape over the years has enabled the developer to create more functional codes by adopting Agile as a process. While DevOps is the concept to manage end-to-end engineering processes, Agile is a process used to manage complex projects. Agile is in fact, one of the most essential parts of a successful DevOps. Here are a few essential differences.

Together, DevOps and Agile help in continuously building, eliminating wasteful efforts and optimizing work. If DevOps is a pie, then Agile is the slice that makes it up!
